Vince and his wife spent the first three years of their marriage in Ghana in the 60’s and returned there in 2004 to renew their acquaintance with the country and its people. During their 2004 trip they explored a mile deep gold mine, visited one of several castles from where slaves were transported, were moved to tears at the calm serenity of Lake Bosumtwi, experienced an up close and personal elephant photoshoot and visited innumerable villages to capture traditional life in this wonderful, colourful country. In the process Vince produced his ARPS panel and one of his photos (The *Abosomfie at Besease see below) was runner-up in the Royal Geographic Society magazine’s Photographer of the Year Competition. Most of Vince’s images were shot on b&w/colour film and later scanned but Vince also had with him a two, yes that’s TWO megapixel Nikon digital camera. https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86590950370?pwd=SVZldVVNRVZCVndFL3hNdXpMR0JkUT09 Meeting ID: 865 9095 0370 17 August 2020My Restless Lenswe will be joined by KEITH SNELL PhD EFIAP EPSA LRPS who will give us his talk MY RESTLESS LENS. George’s personal photographic interests range from Nature and Wildlife, Documentary and Street, to Portraiture. He has been both a Lecturer and Judge for the Northern Counties Photographic Federation for over 20 years. Rather than have George give a talk on just one of favourite subjects I chose his constantly evolving A YEAR IN MY LIFE talk which will deliver a huge variety of images. So, something for everyone. Make a note in your diary. 8.00pm JUNE 8th Zoom will be open from 7.45pm https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86590950370?pwd=SVZldVVNRVZCVndFL3hNdXpMR0JkUT09 Meeting ID: 865 9095 0370 May 2020Monday Monday, Can't trust that day...The Mamas and Papas certainly had it right when they sang those lyrics. Without fear of contradiction I can tell you that on the evening of Monday June 1st 2020 took part in an interclub competition, live on ZOOM. Six clubs took part: Kingston, Malden, Epsom, Richmond & Twickenham, Molesey and Carshalton. There were seven categories of picture and clubs could only enter one image into each category, each by a different photographer. These are the categories and the titles of the pictures the competition sub-committee chose to represent Carshalton: Architecture - Riverwalk by Darren Pullman scored 9 Carshalton won with a total of 63 points. In second place was Molesey with 61. Kingston was third with 60. THE EXHIBITION IMAGES EVENING (previously announced for June 1st) is going ahead later in the month on June 22nd 2020. Ann Rayers needs to hear from you if you would like to say a few words about your images, and who doesn’t like talking about their work? We all do it at the Annual Exhibition whenever we have the chance. AND if all that’s not exciting enough for you, on June 8th 2020 we will have a guest speaker all the way from County Durham, he’s an ARPS and DPAGB but more about him soon ..... Your committee are working very hard to come up with a varied, entertaining and if needs be, flexible programme for the next few months and more. Please support our efforts and contact Darren Pullman (020 8641 6210 or 07531 088125) if you are having problems or have reservations about using ZOOM.
